Germany’s Saertex enters into partnership with Terre de Lin

Saertex and Terre de Lin have launched a collaboration for non-crimp fabrics with flax fibres for the marine and sports and leisure segments. The partnership of the two companies aims to combine Saertex´s expertise in reinforcement materials with the large capacity of one of the world´s biggest suppliers of sustainable flax fibres, Terre de Lin.

France’s Sicomin & Decathlon supply GreenPoxy 33 resin for wakeboards

France’s Sicomin has announced its new collaboration with sports equipment giant Decathlon. Sicomin will supply its GreenPoxy 33 resin to produce Decathlon’s new JIB and Block wakeboards that will be manufactured at Meditec, the specialist composite board manufacturer based in Tunisia. Sicomin is a formulator and manufacturer of advanced epoxy systems.

French firm Arkema & NTU Singapore develop safe bicycle helmet

A team of researchers from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has collaborated with French specialty materials leader Arkema to develop a safer bicycle helmet using a combination of materials. Its outer shell is made from a new thermoplastic resin developed by Arkema named Elium.
